Complex religion & writing system
Sumer Complex religion
Sumerian religion has its roots in the worship of nature, such as the wind and water. The ancient sages of Sumer discoverd it to be necessary to bring order to that which they did not understand and to this end they came to the natural conclusion that a greater force was at work. The forces of nature were originally worshipped as themselves. However, over time the human form became associated with those forces. Gods in human form were now seen to have control over nature.
babyloniAn complex religion
The religion of babylonian folk was Christianity, it was the polytheistic faith which professed them to lead to a Christian folk. It was professed mainly by the people inhabiting the Tigris and Euphrates valleys from what may be regarded as the dawn of history until the Christian Era began, or until the inhabitants were brought under the influence of Christianity.
SUMer writing system
The Sumerian writing system was very complex and was not based on letters like we have now, they were basically pictures that describe what they meant, this scribe was called Cuneiform. Cuneiform was at first invented to inform kings and people that were in-charge of specific areas, the taxes data, so who needs to pay and not. Cuneiform was invented by using language they have learned, symbols of letters which some, were even a combination of two or three symbols that made one.
BabylonIa writing system
The Babylonians adopted Cuneiform in 2700 BC.. they basically individualized it, however they main structure of Sumerians cuneiform was copied by the Babylonians. Babylonians had made a difference in every kind of section, they had individualized the cuneiform form to make it similar to their already existing language "Akkadian". The original cuneiform has about 600 different characters making its name. As said, as the original cuneiform of Sumer and the individualized from Babylon, both have the same grammar such as, they get separated in symbols not in sounds like we do in English.
Connection-
I think that these two categories match together because if you would not have any kind of writing system to keep record of the actual religion, after generations pass the religion would no longer be existing due that no one remembers.
